Meandering Around Grandville Island

Writer's picture: Lorna JonesLorna Jones

By the time we reached Vancouver, we were hungry for lunch. As we knew we'd find lots of options on Granville Island, we ventured down there to explore. I love the atmosphere down there. Lots of cute little shops, unique landmarks, plenty of restaurants and in October the colours are magnificent. After a short walk, we stumbled upon "The Sandbar." From our table we could see the water and the high-rises beyond.

Following a leisurely lunch, we wandered through the market and some of the boutiques. Every tree on the island glowed in the sunshine, reds, oranges, yellows and greens glistening in a magical way.

The work day was over and so it was time to meet up with my son and his wife. I could hardly wait to see them. I wanted to grab every precious moment with them in the few short days we were in Vancouver. It had been a good day.
